I accept an antique crocheted bedspread that has been in storage. Information technology has several rust colored stains on it. It is ecru in color, non white. Tin can I get rid of the stains without hurting the color?

I accept an antique crocheted bedspread. Water leaked into the cedar chest where I was storing it and now it has brown cedar stains on it. How can I remove these stains and not wreck the bedspread?

Soak it in water softener. Information technology's extremely gentle. Put cold water in a bucket large enough to hold the coverlet, drib a scattering or somewhat less of water softener into the bucket, stir until dissolved.
Drop the coverlet in and permit soak-an hour is usually plenty of time. hot water can set stains, as do many soaps, so be careful. White King is the make I know, in that location may be others.

My parents hand crocheted a yellow/white bedspread with cotton thread over 60 yrs. ago. It has been in my linen cupboard and is in perfect status.
How tin I wash and dry information technology safely. It is total size. Thank you.

I would launder it in a large laundry bag on the gentle cycle with Woolite. Dry out flat.

I'm not sure yous tin can find a laundry bag large enough for a full size bedspread. If it were me, I would not want to accept any chances with something like this and so I would suggest taking it to a high end dry cleaners and inquire them if they will do it and assure yous that information technology will be done properly.
Information technology may exist plush but hopefully information technology will look cute when finished and they tin probably supply you with a safe storage bag.

I accept an antiquarian fair, heavy, crochet bedspread. It has stains on it from being left in a plastic bag for years. I was advised by a professional linens restorer to soak it overnight in a solution of Biz and water, about a washer tubful of water to half a box of Biz.
The trouble I haven't solved is how to dry & block information technology. In my area (Primal Florida) no cleaning business concern will accept care of this problem for me. If anyone know of some place that will, please advise me.
